In the year of Ford's debut at Le Mans, Ferrari confirmed their dominance with Jean Guichet and Nino Vaccarella, behind the wheel of the 275 P prototype. The 275 P was certainly not the most powerful of the Ferraris lined up (320 horses against the 370 of the 330) but it was perhaps the most balanced and undoubtedly the most glorious, having already won the Sebring 12 Hours and the Nurburgring 1000km. Ferrari number 20 preceded the two Ferrari 330 P of Bonnier / Hill and Surtees / Bandini at the finish. In 1965 Ferrari would win at Le Mans for the last time in its history.
