The Ferrari 458 Challenge was the fifth model used in the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy. Significantly more powerful than the previous "F430", thanks to a 90 ° V8 engine of 4,499 cm³ developing 570 hp at 9,000 rpm, it was equipped with a F1 type gearbox and the E-Diff electronic differential. With a dry weight of 1,220 kg for a wheelbase of 2,650 mm, the Ferrari 458 Challenge had 19 ” slick tires specially developed by Pirelli. The carbon-ceramic brake system, integrated with the ABS and built by Brembo, used the new CCM2 technology derived from the 599XX. Another unprecedented element should also be highlighted: that of the F1-Trac traction control. Introduced in the single-brand for the first time in 2011, it has subsequently undergone an improvement thanks to the introduction of the Evo (2014) version, basically characterized by an aerodynamic upgrade, with the addition of a rear wing and a front splitter, used until 2017.
