For the 2002 Formula 1 season, Ferrari provided Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello with an even more refined and effective car than the previous ones. The F2002 had an evolution of the 2001 engine, which now gave about ten more horsepower (835). Aerodynamics had been improved and the whole package was even more competitive and homogeneous. Ferrari's superiority in 2002 was overwhelming, with Michael Schumacher winning the mathematical certainty of the drivers' title already at Magny-Cours with still six races to go.
