With the Superamerica, announced at the end of 2004, Ferrari dusted off an old glorious name adopted for the first time on the 1956 410 Pininfarina. The car, built in a limited run, was equipped with the 540 horsepower 5748cc V12 engine. Conceptually Superamerica remembered the 575M Maranello and proposed an original solution of a retractable rigid roof, which once opened disappeared in a compartment built behind the passenger compartment.
