Presented a year after the coupe from which it derived (April 2000), the BMW 3 Series E46 convertible was initially available only with the 6-cylinder engine (320 Ci, 170 horsepower; 325 Ci, 192 horsepower; 330 Ci, 231 horsepower ). Then came the M3 versions with 343 horsepower (March 2001) and then the 4-cylinder 318 Ci (143 horsepower), starting in January 2002. Small adjustments were carried out in February 2003 (headlights, grille and other details). In September 2004, the new Preference, Preference Confort and Preference Luxe set-ups were presented. In 2005 it was the turn of diesel, with the 320 Cd with 150 horses in January and the 330 Cd from 204 in March. Production stopped in 2006.
