The New Stratos project, launched in 2006 by designer Chris Thabalek and then financed by German entrepreneur Michael Stoschek, was an exercise in style aimed at marrying a Ferrari F430 Scuderia engine with the legendary Stratos designed by Bertone. In 2009, the Pininfarina Special Projects section started the design, aerodynamic tests and engineering calculations. The end result was a car with softer lines than the 1970s Stratos. Presented in 2010, the New Stratos Pininfarina is to be considered a successful project.
