At the end of his racing career, Graham Hill decided to start his own team. After a rather disappointing 1973 season with a Shadow DN1, Hill commissioned Lola to design a new car, with the support of the sponsor Embassy. The T370 turned out to be a rather conventional single-seater, which retained several similarities with certain F.5000 cars. The T370 ran throughout the 1974 season and in the first races of 1975, before being replaced by the T371, which represented a link with the GH1, the first F1 to bear the Hill name. Guy Edwards, Peter Gethin, Graham Hill and Rolf Stommelen piloted the T370.
