WHITEBOX - VOLVO - 343 1976

With the acquisition of control over Daf, Volvo also recovered the P900 project, launched in 1969, which involved the construction of a more spacious model, intended to expand the clientele. The study had led in 1976 to the definition of the Volvo 343 and 345 models, respectively with three and five doors (with tailgate), the latter a type of bodywork launched by Renault with the R4 in 1961 and then with the R16 in 1965. These Compact sedans took up the Daf architecture with rear-wheel drive and De Dion bridge. The engines were 4-cylinder 1397 and 1721 petrol and a 1596cc diesel.
