The Rapier first series, presented in 1955, was a Hillman Minx with hard-top, Minx-style front grille, Stromberg carburetors and a series of accessories that wanted to highlight a very limited sportiness in reality. Equipped with the 1390cc 4-cylinder engine, the Rapier was produced up to 1957 in about 7500 specimens; it was replaced by the second series, with a 1.5-liter engine.
