At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Lamborghini presented the flagship car destined to replace the Murcielago. For the first time in its history, Lamborghini used a carbon fiber monocoque that weighed only 147 kg. The first version of the Aventador, the LP700-4, had a 6498cc V12 engine that developed 700 horsepower at 8250 rpm. The LP700-4 was produced until 2016.
