After Nicola Larini's extraordinary victory in the 1993 DTM, Alfa Romeo continued to develop the 155 V6 TI also for the 1994 season. The engine was lightened and lowered; the car was lowered by 60 mm and modified in aerodynamics. ABS and electronically controlled active suspension were introduced, developed in collaboration with TAG Electronics. Two 155 Alfa Corse officers were entrusted to Larini and Nannini, while another three were managed by Schubel Engineering for France, Danner and Nissen. Nannini dominated the first part of the season by winning 7 races out of 10 but Ludwig, with the new Mercedes C-Class, recovered and won the title. However, Alfa was the brand that won the highest number of races, with Nannini and Modena.
