Produced from 1949 to 1954, the Allard J2 / J2X was a highly effective sports car, able to cope in acceleration with the Jaguar XK120 in versions equipped with engines such as the Cadillac V8, the Oldsmobile or the Chrysler. In Britain, versions with a 3.9-liter Mercury engine were more common. Also used in competition (famous for its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans), the Allard J2 / J2X was produced in about 173 units.
