Besides large-displacement models, at the beginning of his career, Ettore Bugatti also built models with smaller engines, such as the T23 Brescia, equipped with a 1496cc 4-cylinder (30 horsepower). The mechanics were however very refined, with 16 valves and a very effective four-speed transmission and precise and direct steering, which made the car also suitable for use in competitions. The T23 was produced from 1921 to 1926.
