In May 1964, Fiat put the 850 on the market, an evolution of the 600, of which it maintained the fundamental setting: 2-door sedan, 4-5 seats, self-supporting bodywork, water-cooled 4-cylinder rear engine. It was presented in two versions: normal with 34 horsepower and “super” with 37 horsepower. In both cases the displacement was 843cc. Externally, the normal and super versions were identical. The 850 first series remained in production until 1968.
