Produced from 1992 to 1994, the road going version of the Mazda 323 GT-R model used in rallies always remained in the shadow of the hugely popular Lancia Delta HF Integrale. But for nearly half the price of the Delta, GT-R buyers could have a thrilling performance car with a sporty look and a turbocharged 185 horsepower 16 valves engine fitted with IHI turbines. Thanks to the integral transmission, the handling on the road was flawless. Only 2,200 were built.
