After World War II, Alvis continued the production of high-class and superior performance cars, capable of competing with the best British brands. The 2993cc 6-cylinder engine was continuously developed, from the first models of 1950 until 1967. The TA21 series was the first with this engine, which in the first versions gave about 80/90 horsepower, depending on the carburetors fitted. The TA21 was produced until 1953, parallel to the TB21.
