In the sixties, Ghia also tried its hand as an independent manufacturer. In its production there was a nice coupé, the 1500GT designed by Coggiola which was based on the mechanics of the Fiat 1500 with a tubular frame. On the 1500GT the engine was positioned further back than the Fiat 1500, for a better weight arrangement. Production, which started in 1963, continued until 1966.
