The last series of the MG Midget, the fourth, was presented in 1969. The car was produced until 1974, under the leadership of British Leyland. The engine was still the 1275cc four-cylinder. The tank was slightly larger than that of the MkIII. The changes mainly concerned the aesthetics, with thinner bumpers, Rostyle rims and since 1972 rear wheel arches with a round rather than square shape. About 78,000 Midget MkIVs were built.
