After twenty-one years of waiting, Michael Schumacher brought the Formula 1 drivers world title back to Maranello. After the unfortunate 1999 season, Schumacher showed up in great shape, with a car - the F1-2000 - designed by Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne and born from the conceptual basis of the already well performing F399 of the previous year. Schumacher, validly supported by Rubens Barrichello, with nine victories broke the resistance of Hakkinen and Coulthard. Barrichello also had the satisfaction of a victory, won in Germany. Ferrari also won the constructors' world title.
