It was the first right-hand drive GTO for the British UDT-Laystall team. The car, painted in a very light green original with green seats, competed in the 1962 season, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Innes Ireland and Masten Gregory. He achieved an exceptional victory at the Goodwood Tourist Trophy with Ireland. In 1963 it was sold to the Austrian actor, swimmer, doctor and screenwriter Gunther Philipp, better known as Placheta, who was a gentleman driver. Placheta used the GTO 3505GT, which in the meantime had been painted red, in 1963 and 1964.
