Designed by Ben Bowlby as a hybrid LMP1, the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo stood out considerably from other LMP1s of the period. The engine, front central, was a 6-cylinder turbo with 3000cc direct injection and V-shaped architecture, developed in collaboration with Cosworth, with a hybrid system that recovered energy during braking. The car was not competitive and after the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours it was shelved.
