The chassis of the Simca 1000 served as the basis for the racing car equipped with the 1300/1600/2000 engines, but Abarth also developed the Simca 1000 Saloon obtaining one of its typical transformations. The car, powered by a 1150cc engine, was supposed to repeat the success of the 850TC and 1000s, based on the Fiat 600. However, the transfer of the Simca brand to the Chrysler group, which was not particularly interested in competitions, largely compromised the spread of the car . Four versions were made starting from 1963: the 1150 Base, 1150S, 1150SS and 1150 corsa, with powers from 55 to 85 bhp.
