At the end of the sixties, Alfa Romeo decided to put on the market a 1600 version of the Giulia with a single carburetor, with elastic operation and with reduced consumption. The 1600 S was presented at the 1968 Turin Motor Show, with the well-known 1570cc engine which was updated bringing its power to 95 horsepower. The Giulia 1600S remained in production for two years, with 2212 units built.
