Based on a new platform, the Jaguar XJ model X350 was marketed starting in April 2003. It had an aluminum body. The starting models were the XJ6 with a 243 horsepower 3000 V6 engine, the XJ8 with a 266 horsepower V8 3500 engine and the XJ8 with a 306 horsepower 4200 V8 engine. Three trim levels: basic (not for the 4200), Sport and Classic. The 4.2-liter V8 received a supercharger on the XJR and XJ Super V8 sports versions. In May 2004 the long wheelbase versions made their debut and in 2005 it was the turn of the turbodiesel engines. A restyling was carried out in March 2007 (model X358) with new body elements including the grille. The X350 / X358 remained in production until the end of March 2009 with 83566 units sold.
