Marketed since September 1981, the Ascona C was the second Opel front-wheel drive after the Kadett D. Quiet sedan, it was revived a bit in the following years with the SR and GT versions. Two facelifts presented during production, in 1984 and 1986. In August 1988, the Ascona C gave way to the more modern Vectra. Still produced in Brazil in sedan and coupe versions, the Ascona C benefited from a third facelift in 1990 to continue its career until 1996.
