To replace the Alpine V6 GT Turbo, produced from 1986 to 1991, Renault designed a stylistically similar evolution, the A610. The engine was a 3-liter 6-cylinder that developed 250 horsepower, supercharged by a Garrett turbine. Thanks to a fairly low mass (1420 kg), the A610 had excellent acceleration (from 0 to 100 km / h in 5 "9) and a top speed of over 260 km / h. Characterized by a very pleasant line, the A610 was also successful in the United States. Production stopped in 1994 with 820 units built.
