All this heavily penalized a model that still did not have the appeal of the competitors Mercedes S-Series and BMW 7 Series. The engines were 2.5 and 3.0 liters, to which was added in 1985 a 2.2-liter turbodiesel. In 1987 the II series (model B) with 2.5 / 2.6 / 3 liter engines was introduced. Production ceased in 1994.
