The 1993 season finale hinted at the qualities of the collaboration between Eddie Jordan and engine supplier Hart. For 1994, Steve Nichols joined the technical staff. The Jordan-Hart 194 was a very effective and balanced car. Rubens Barrichello finished in sixth place in the final standings, even reaching the podium on one occasion (Pacific GP). The other starter, Eddie Irvine, missed three GPs at the start of the season, achieving a fourth place at the European GP as his best result. Andrea De Cesaris and Aguri Suzuki replaced Irvine in the three GPs in which he was absent: the Italian rider was fourth in Monte Carlo, before moving to Sauber.
