Eddie Jordan sold the shares of his Formula 1 team on the eve of the 2005 season. 2005 was therefore the beginning of a new cycle, not as fortunate as the first. The EJ15 had the 2998cc Toyota V10 type RVX-05 engine. Over the course of the season, technical development resulted in significant weight and aerodynamic efficiency gains (EJ15B). Neither Tiago Monteiro nor Narain Karthikeyan managed to obtain significant results. Jordan-Toyota finished ninth and penultimate in the constructors' championship.
