Universally known by the nickname of "Matta", the 1900M (M for Military) was designed in the early 1950s to fit Italian Ministry of Defense with a light vehicle for the army and police forces. The Matta was fitted with an engine that was strictly derived from that of the 1900 sedan. Built in 1921 specimens in the AR51 version and in 154 with the name AR52, the Matta was also used for civil uses.
