To conquer the European market, which probably found the Q7s too bulky, Audi proposed a slightly smaller SUV in 2008, called the Q5. Developed on the basis of the A4, this family SUV was marketed with a large choice of 4 and 6 cylinder engines. A hybrid version made a fleeting appearance in the catalog. The first restyling was carried out in April 2012. Particularly popular were the versions with the 3000cc TDI with 245 horsepower. This generation of Q5 went out of production in 2017.
