The Eifelland Formula 1 was actually a March 721 modified by aerodynamics specialist Luigi Lutz Colani. The team was financed by Gunther Henerici, owner of Eifelland, a caravan manufacturer. With Rolf Stommelen at the wheel, the Eifelland, equipped with the Cosworth engine, competed in eight Grands Prix in 1972, with a tenth place as best result. Over the course of the year, however, Henerici sold the Eifelland business and the Formula 1 team found no financiers.
