Together with the 250S and the 4.1-liter, the 225S was one of Ferrari's weapons for endurance races in 1952. With spider or coupé bodywork, the 225S proved very competitive.
Chassis #0176ED received a specific bodywork designed by Vignale, with fenders of a new shape. The car was purchased in 1952 by Antonio Stagnoli. Between 1952 and 1954 the 225S 0176ED had intense competitive activity, often obtaining very good results also in international races. At the GP Supercortemaggiore in Monza in September 1953 Antonio Mieres finished in sixth place.
