Together with the 250S and the 4.1-liter, the 225S was one of Ferrari's weapons for endurance races in 1952. With spider or coupé bodywork, the 225S proved very competitive.
Chassis #0176ED received a specific bodywork designed by Vignale, with fenders of a new shape. The car was purchased in 1952 by Antonio Stagnoli and in its first race it achieved a third place with Stagnoli himself and Clemente Biondetti.
