The fourth generation of the BMW 3 series, called E46, was presented at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show; in July 1999 the Touring, the SW version, was added. Until the last year of production, 2005, the E46 was offered in an infinite choice of engines and versions, the most popular of which were those with the V6 petrol engine (323/325/328 and 330i, with powers from 170 to 231 horses). The range also featured diesel engines such as the 330d, with 183 horsepower, which became 204 since February 2003. A restyling was carried out in October 2001.
