Little known to the general public, the Alpine GT4 offered a sporty vision associated with comfort. More touristic than traditional Alpine coupes, the GT4 had greater roominess, with a rear seat. The first engine (type A108L) had the 956cc engine, while later the other cars type A110L had the 1108cc (V70 and V100), the 1296cc and 1255cc of the Renault R8 Gordini (only 15 examples). The GT4 always remained in the shadow of the A110, and in its seven-year career only 263 units were produced.
