In the second half of the sixties, the Abarth 1000SP was very popular in races across Europe. The debut took place in 1966 and the fifty units needed for homologation in the Sports category were sold without difficulty. The 1000SP was ideal for customers. With an elegant line, tubular frame and central 982cc engine giving 105 horsepower, the 1000SP had a very long career that went up to the mid-seventies. On this basis some tuners made more or less radical transformations.
