At the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hours, whose starting grid was made up of 80% GT cars, Toyota's participation consisted, in addition to a Supra from the Japanese GT championship, in a mid-engined coupe equipped with the 88CV-type V8 4-liter twin-turbo engine developed by SARD team (already present at Le Mans in 1973 with a Mazda-powered Sigma prototype) starting from the MR-2. The lack of performance was immediately evident and the car had to abandon after just 14 laps.
