The Cooper T60's debut in 1962 was likely overshadowed by the appearance of the outstanding Lotus 25 and also the Porsche 8-cylinder engine. The T60 was a fairly traditional single-seater, with a tubular chassis and Climax V8 engine. McLaren won the Monaco GP at the wheel of the T60, Cooper's only success in the five years of regulation of the one and a half liter engines. The two T60s built were then used sporadically in 1963 and then sold to private teams. A third example used for testing by Honda.
