Named Mexico to commemorate the victory in the London-Mexico rally, this Escort could apparently look like an RS1600 but in reality the engine was different: it was in fact the 86 horsepower Kent. Some elements such as the reinforced body, suspension and brakes, however, derived from the RS. A simple and fun car, it also enjoyed extensive use in competitions, including a successful single-make series. Production went from 1970 to 1975.
