Presented at the Amsterdam Motor Show on February 18, 1965, the GTA ("A" as "alleggerita", i.e. "lightened") is recognized at first glance by the Sprint GT by the simple grille that replaces the grille. The car is only available in Alfa 501 red and 013 "biancospino". Wheels and tires are specific, and some accessories are directly marked by the competition, such as the door handles derived from those of the Giulia TZ. The street GTA has the same mechanics as the Sprint GT, but power goes up from 106 to 115 horsepower, with two Weber 45DCOE14 double-barrel horizontal carburettors. The GTA will be produced until 1969 in about 500 units, of which about fifty are right-hand drive.
